Under general direction, performs routine clerical duties requiring basic knowledge of departmental procedures. Answers inquiries and complaints from the public and city employees regarding departmental policies and water related services. Dispatches service trucks to the appropriate locations for water main breaks, meter readings and other events. Maintains accurate records and meter inventory for installation of new water meters and removal of old water meters in the utility billing system. Collects, compiles and enters data such as new construction, meters, critical customers and taps into various software programs for reports. Assists with preparation of work schedules for division personnel and scheduling of appointments.
High school degree or equivalent required. Six months experience in a clerical office work environment required. Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record required. Must pass criminal background check.
One year of related experience preferred.
