The Architect of the Capitol, (AOC), Planning and Project Management, Development Division, is seeking a Construction Representative (Cost Estimator). The detail oriented candidate will provide cost estimating support to the Construction Division and also perform a broad variety of duties with respect to development of cost estimates.
Prepare cost estimates for proposed restorations, alterations, rehabilitations, renovation and new construction.
Provide consultation to both AOC and contract architects and engineers on the cost implications of design alternatives.
Utilize current labor conditions, wages, marker fluctuations, cost escalation indices, current materials availability costs, technological changes and other industry trends.
During construction phase of design projects, will review modifications prices for conformance with budget and original cost projections.
Develop proposals that take into consideration other planned work being performed by other contractors or the AOC CD forces.
Works with scheduler in developing resource-loaded schedules, critical path schedules and analysis techniques, project progress and cost assurance processes.
This position is temporary in nature and is not to exceed 13 months. This is strictly a temporary appointment where there is no permanent need or permanent funding available for the work involved and that the temporary appointment is limited in duration. The duration of this temporary appointment may be shorter or longer, depending on the duration of the work or project. The temporary position may also be terminated at any time due to lack of work and/or lack of funds without any advance notice. As a non-permanent employee, you may also be separated for failure to meet management’s expectations, with no advance notice.
