Where the Chemistry Happens
Director Regional Service Centers – Houston, Geismar, Freeport, or Wyandotte
The Director Regional Service Centers is the technical and managerial leader for all activities executed at sites supported by the Regional Service Centers (RSCs) throughout North America. The activities performed by Regional Service Center personnel include: project execution, discipline engineering and design (electrical, civil, process, instrumentation, mechanical, piping), as well as maintenance reliability and construction safety engineering. Regional Service Centers are generally responsible for the execution of projects greater than $500K and less than $30M.
The Director will collaborate with Technical Site Service leaders globally to evaluate best practices, tools and processes to implement in the Regional Service Centers and at their respective supported sites.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Formula for Success:
Utilizing your academic background in an Engineering field coupled with extensive experience in relevant manufacturing and project engineering environments, you will be responsible for validating/refining, leading and implementing the Regional Service Center strategic model
You will participate onsite at RSCs and supported site locations to drive alignment and collaboration between the respective Service Centers, as well as between the Service Centers and supported sites
As a seasoned people manager, you will prove leadership/supervision for Regional Service Center Managers including coaching, mentoring, and professional support; you will involve, trust, and optimize a diverse, high performing team and create a vision that fosters a sense of common ownership
Leveraging your extensive experience in project engineering and maintenance execution and reliability environments, you will participate in regional and global teams to develop and optimize technical engineering execution, reliability, and work processes
You will ensure that all services and products provide value for BASF as well as customers in strategic markets; with exceptional customer focus, you will develop trust and confidence with Business Unit and Site Leaders across the Region
Your experience working at or directly with small / medium size sites will serve you well as you ensure the application of all safety rules, assuring Engineering personnel are aware of and employing safe working practices and promoting safety programs and behaviors
You will lead by example and set an environment for taking risks within the organization by addressing constraints and enabling resources
With an ability to communicate effectively at all levels within organizations (shop floor to executive), you will leverage and manage multiple third-party engineering companies as well as lead negotiations
