1) Provide leadership and support to the project staff in managing the successful delivery of diversity goals of capital construction projects through goal tracking, recovery plans, and outreach.
2) Work with project teams to strategize on how to utilize M/WBE businesses. Encourage project teams to take an active role in seeking out and utilizing M/WBE on projects.
3) Coordinate with project managers to ensure M/WBEâ™s have maximum opportunities to bid on design and construction projects.
4) Implements the evaluation process which includes job audit procedures (i.e., job site visits) to ensure M/WBE and workforce participation in accordance to utilization plans.
5) Work with the Procurement team to stay informed on prequalification status, contracting and bonding concerns. Attend pre-bid and construction meetings with project teams to ensure that the diversity goals are communicated and implemented
6) Partner with Procurement to prepare and maintain current and historical records on the utilization of diversity and/or local residentsâ™ participation within the trades on all projects
7) Help create and manage recovery plans, if faced with M/WBE goal shortages.
8) Investigate instances and complaints of non-compliance, collaboratively resolve problems where appropriate and prepare referral materials for enforcement action when appropriate
9) Identify new relationships and build existing relationships with the M/WBE design and construction community to increase the pool of qualified M/WBE companies available for design and construction projects.
10) Develop and organize a trade partner programs. Attend and recruit employees to participate in industry outreach events.
11) Actively engage with local, community, federal, state, and city organizations that support and promote M/WBE construction programs.
12) Identify targeted opportunities for community partnerships and coordinate and promote employee engagement in those activities
13) Stay informed of the economic impact, social issues and trends facing the University to assist in the development of a community plan.
14) Meet with relevant community organizations, minority and women contractors, and construction and design market participants to discuss M/WBE, workforce issues and problems associated with the project
15) Diversify employee representation at M/WBE outreach events to expose more individuals to the community.
16)Build and maintain a collaborative relationship with contractors and consultants with an emphasis on delivering successful projects which includes meeting diversity goals.
17) Represent the University and its values to all project stakeholders, internal and external, including establishing and promoting a positive image of University within the community
