Provides leadership and supports the Vice President of Student Affairs in the planning, coordination, and administration of select student affairs programs at the university.
40% Provides leadership and administrative supervision for Student Affairs departments including Student Affairs assessment data, programming, and use of results to optimize all programming decisions and inform budgetary allocations. Provides leadership for the effective recruitment and advancement of a diverse student body while assisting other areas on campus with recruitment of diverse faculty and staff representation. Responsible for other selected areas within Student Affairs based on prior experience and specializations.
30% Serves as a senior leader within the Division of Student Affairs. Provides administrative supervision and associated project oversight for departments within the division. Serves as a division representative and liaison related to student persistence, student success initiatives, diversity and inclusion, and division liaison with campus located in Fort Worth, Texas (set to open August 1, 2019).
15% Discusses with the Vice President, and other Student Affairs professionals, student issues and help to facilitate decisions on building construction and policies affecting all aspects of student life. Maintains a thorough knowledge of federal, state, TAMUS and university policies and regulations as they relate to student affairs. Responds to effectively to all communications regarding student issues.
10% Assists in strategic planning and the development and implementation of policies, guidelines and programs for the division to enhance campus environment for students.
5% Other: represents the Division of Student Affairs at University functions when appropriate; represents the Division of Student Affairs and the university at off-campus events and functions when appropriate; serve on university committees as appropriate; perform other delegated duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Earned doctorate in education, social science, student counseling or related field; Ten years of experience in student affairs or related field, experience managing budgets and full-time staff, experience working with and advising student groups. Supervisory experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
