Position Summary As an integral part of the marketing and sales team, the Medicare Education Specialist is responsible for increasing the Medicare patient enrollment (specifically MAPD enrollment) for the medical group and IPA division of MCMF in support of MemorialCare’s strategic growth objectives. Excellent public speaking, consultative sales skills and presentation skills are critical.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
Strategize and develop Medicare marketing plans and programs in support of increasing MAPD and Medicare enrollments.
Manages and implements Medicare member growth strategies and tactics in support of increasing and retaining Medicare enrollment.
Develops and maintains relationships with key community partners (Hospitals, physicians, health plan representatives, brokers, senior organizations, etc.).
Develops and collaborates with community partners for Medicare marketing outreach efforts.

Coordinates, schedules, and attends senior and community events.
Coordinates initiatives focused on Medicare eligible audience, such as but not limited to:
Plan and implement marketing events and physician lectures at senior centers, senior housing, assisted living, hospitals and retirement communities. Attend senior center health fairs as necessary.Research and develop new opportunities to target the senior population and expand the senior patient base.
Conducts senior outreach utilizing consultative sales approach Builds and maintains collaborative working partnerships with our MAPD representatives, health plans, brokers, senior centers, senior housing, contracted hospitals and other senior related community organizations. Represents MCMF medical group and IPA in a professional, knowledgeable manner at events.
Maintains current knowledge of annual Medicare changes, marketing regulations, Medicare Advantage health plan benefits and senior healthcare market. Be proficient in contracted Medicare Advantage plan benefits and able to educate patients, physicians and staff.
Works closely with senior outreach representatives at the MemorialCare hospitals to promote MCMF’s IPA and medical group and to develop a comprehensive plan to increase senior MAPD enrollment across the system.
Works with Senior Ambassadors by assigning event schedule, updating the staff on current changes in providers, company policies, market place, etc.
Ensures the staff are supplied with the most current marketing collateral and sufficient supplies.
Supports Employer Outreach efforts as needed.
Enter and track daily events, physician outreach, health fairs and senior communities in salesforce Performs any additional/miscellaneous duties (not inclusive of job description) as required by the management team within the scope of knowledge and ability.

3-5 years' experience in marketing and/or sales, preferably in the healthcare industry.
Thorough current knowledge of medical managed care and Medicare issues.
Strong organizational, interpersonal communication, and presentation skills.
Must be flexible and willing to adapt to constant/on-going changes in the business and the market place.
B.A. or B.S. in marketing, business or related discipline preferred.
Insurance license(s) demonstrating authorization to sell Medicare products and services in the state of California preferred.
