Reporting to the Director of Facilities Management, the Assistant Director for Project Management and Special Events will have day to day primary responsibilities that include oversight of In House University Renovation and Maintenance Projects. The Assistant Director will work closely with Facilities Managers, Foreman, Supervisors, Staff, and Contractors to successfully complete projects consistent with University Standards. Additionally the Assistant Director will serve as the main point of contact/liaison for Facilities Management for Special Events on campus. This position will serve as second in command to the Director of Facilities Management.
Experience in Facilities Management including specific experience related to commercial construction, University, Commercial, or Industrial maintenance, and Life Safety systems. Experience reading architectural plans and specifications. Experience with work control systems, spreadsheets, word documents, financial reporting and internet communications. Demonstrated application of analytical and reasoning skills necessary for evaluation processes, judgment and independent action are critical. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Must be able to work collaboratively with diverse constituencies including students, faculty, and staff. Must have the ability to respond to Emergency situations on nights and weekend at Radford University within 30 minutes or less. Also must have the ability to work nights and weekends as required for business operations.
Experience working in a higher education environment. Experience with project management.
