POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the direction and oversight of the Planning, Design & Construction department, including budgets in excess of $100M. Collaborates with Senior Administration & Physician Leadership to conceptualize, design, and construct a wide range of renovation and new construction on behalf of the organization. Provides consultative services throughout the West Virginia United Health System as an expert resource to contribute hospital design and construction information. Acts as a resource to all System entities regarding healthcare construction standard(s), code regulatory compliance, space planning, and property acquisitions.

Oversees and directs a wide range of complex in-patient, outpatient and specialty support space construction and renovation initiatives in support of the organization’s core mission. 2. Manages expert design consultants including; Architects, Engineering, Civil and others. 3. Develops budgetary estimates for a wide range of strategic initiatives for assigned facilities, campuses and organizations. 4. Leads the System’s real estate activities as assigned including leases, property acquisitions including purchase agreements, due diligence specifically, appraisals, surveys, and environmental assessments. 5. Oversees interaction with all local, state and federal agencies to insure system compliance with all applicable regulations and laws. 6. Manages Contractors and Construction Management groups engaged to construct facilities for the organization. 7. Responsible for effective management of personnel in WVUH Planning, Design and Construction Department. 8. Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholder including physician leadership. 9. Manages initiatives to maintain projects within established timelines and budgets.
