This position reports to the Assistant Facilities Manager and works with the Assistant Manager regarding the coordination and scheduling of all matters relating to the renovation, maintenance, furnishing, and use of all rooms/offices in the following buildings on the BL campus: Cyberinfrastructure, Global Network Operations Center and Innovation Center. Schedules and supervises the work activities of hourly staff in providing facilities support. The position will also supervise and coordinate all operations for events and activities held in the CIB lobby conference rooms. Other Responsibilities will include services, such as locker assignments and key inventories, and policies and systems for handling these duties. Ensures quality appearance of building, grounds and facilities. Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.
REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED and five years in construction technology, building/facility maintenance.
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.
Ability to work independently. Expertise with the procurement activities. Experience with computers and word processing/spreadsheet software. Ability to understand furniture configuration specification, diagrams and manuals. Ability to read and understand building design drawing, equipment diagrams and familiarity with construction techniques. Excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to function successfully with frequent interruption and changing priorities. Knowledge of regulations, policies and best practices regarding space; security; crowd control; long-term maintenance/improvements; the upgrade/purchase of equipment; and the disposal of surplus equipment.
Familiarity and experience in a university setting.
