Providence is calling a ( Full Time/ Day Shift ) Manager Clinical Pharmacy Operations to our Facey Sepulveda Annex location in Mission Hills, CA.
In this position you will:
Provide leadership for clinical pharmacy programs and operations and direct supervision of Clinical Pharmacy caregivers.
Provide expertise and vision to Facey leadership in regards to clinical and fiscal pharmacotherapy issues.
Work collaboratively with department director, primary care physicians, specialists, staff and leadership to develop programs that improve patient outcomes through appropriate medication management.
Work collaboratively with department director to develop and implement methods to measure the results of these programs to justify expansion and drive quality improvement.
Prepare and present reports on department productivity, patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes and financial benefits of clinical pharmacy interventions as needed.
Support department marketing initiatives and collaborates with Southern California Regional Pharmacy leadership to establish best practices and program development. Provides coordinated, comprehensive, high-quality care to Facey patients.
Be responsible for the evaluation, interpretation and management of medication therapies to improve the quality and outcomes of healthcare provided to Facey patients and control costs.
Support clinicians and other health care providers through collaborative drug therapy management services, medication conversion programs and other functions to ensure that the use of pharmaceutical agents is rational and cost-effective.
Work with FMG's Medical Director, Physicians and Operations Leadership to update Clinical Pharmacy policies and protocols.
Lead Facey's Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee (P&T) and participates in committees and workgroups relevant to the functions of clinical pharmacy services.
Support prescription refill department and leadership by providing clinical consult for medication protocols, regulations and guidelines.
Provide as needed consultation to FMF's director overseeing the RX Refill area in areas that would benefit from a clinical pharmacist's perspective.
Provide direct supervision and management of Ambulatory Care Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Medical Assistants.
Hire and retain qualified staff; ensures new caregivers are oriented to their department and well trained for their jobs.
Motivates and manages caregivers to ensure that performance standards are met or exceeded.
Give timely and constructive feedback on performance; documents all corrective counseling.
Interact with other departments and present reports and findings to Facey leadership as needed to perform the duties of this position
Required qualifications for this position include:
Doctorate of Pharmacy from a college or school of pharmacy accredited by ACPE
Current valid California Pharmacist license
Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers
ASHP-Accredited PGY-1 and PGY-2 Residency (General Practice, Ambulatory Care, Community Pharmacy, Managed Care, Pharmacoeconomics)
Minimum 5 years of advanced practice pharmacy experience disease state management with prescriptive authority and medication use evaluations
Minimum 3 years management experience and clinical pharmacy program development experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Certification in one or more Pharmacotherapy, Ambulatory Care, Diabetes or Geriatrics.
