1.Tasks may include maintenance, repair, placement, fabrication, installation, alteration, construction and design of facility components requiring the application of skills in planning, problem solving, attention to detail, teamwork, communication and adherence to safety. 2.Responsible for performing routine maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and/or the physical condition of building do no deteriorate. 3.Use electrical test devices to troubleshoot and repair chiller electrical control circuits. 4.Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Graduation from high school or equivalent and two years experience. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
1. Associates' degree. 2. Two years' of experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of physical plant facilities. 3. Strong knowledge in both the electrical and plumbing fields. 4. Proven track record in facilities. 5. Current Universal Certification by the EPA 40 CFR part 82, Subpart F a plus. 6. NC Electrical License or Journeyman card strongly preferred. 7. Plumbing journeyman card a plus. 8. Ability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork. 9. Ability to effectively communicate the English language (reading, writing, interpretation and comprehension). 10. Effective skills in verbal, written and interpersonal communications, however excellent communication skills are preferred. 11. Computer literate. Knowledge and skill with Google Chrome, Microsoft Word and Excel, and willingness to learn new programs. 12. Ability to effectively work/interact with persons from different backgrounds and cultures. 13. Selected candidate must have the mental and physical capabilities to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
