CBRE|Heery is hiring Assistant Construction Project Managers for their Fort Lauderdale office.
The Assistant Construction Project Manager will support and assist in the management of multiple capital construction projects under the direction of the Project Manager (PM), Construction Manager (CM) and/or Team Leader. Projects range from small building repair and renovations to large out of ground construction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in Facilitate the design and permitting documentation for all projects assigned.
Assists with contractual and other Project related issues as directed by PM/CM.
Assist PM with the input requirements for the Monthly Program Report relative to status and issues to the Construction Manager.
Support and assist PM with preparation of construction delivery proposals.
Support PM with the preparation and reviews of all deliverables about design and reviewed comments with design consultants as needed
Assist PM & CM with change orders preparation, coordination and submittal
Conduct periodic site visits to monitor the progress of construction, review status of work completed during the period covered, review that work is generally proceeding in a good and workmanlike manner and in general accordance with the approved drawings and specifications.
Review contractors' direct cost payment requisitions and budget status, review of subcontracts, bonds/subcontractor default insurance, review of change orders, review of Developer's monthly Job Cost Reports,
Prepare Project Status Reports and recommend the release of construction funds.
Review contract drawings and specifications for completeness and general compliance
Assist PM/CM with the documentation of the contractor Requests for Information (RFI).
Assist PM/CM with the Pre-Construction, Construction and Closeout phases of the Project.
Assist PM/CM with the Building Dept to resolve issues as directed. ectural/engineering best practices.
Other duties as assigned.
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
2+ years' construction administration experience on vertical construction projects. Experience on large scale projects is preferred.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
Working towards or eligible for licensure as either a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect is desired.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.
Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.
Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read and understand architectural drawings. Working knowledge in MS Project is helpful. Knowledge of contracts and construction practices preferred.
Basic knowledge of construction delivery methods and agreements. Some familiarity with construction best practices, general building codes, and various building types and systems. Passion for being detail oriented and highly organized.
