SUMMARY We are currently working with an entrepreneurial, privately held design/build Engineering/Construction Company in Butler County to identify an experienced Construction Project Superintendent. This company does very little work in the low bid market, is client oriented, and prides themselves about being very open and honest with their clients. They have long tenured employees due to offering a friendly, family oriented work environment where hard work does not go unrecognized and they share their profits by offering an above average bonus incentive plan. POSITION Responsibilities include: • Manage day-to-day field operations of construction projects. • Manage subcontractors effectively/efficiently. • Professional interactions with clients, inspectors, engineers. • Manage project schedule, including weekly preparation of 3-week look ahead report. • Coordination among trades. • Maintain job site safety. • Maintain a daily log of job site activities, etc. • Maintain job site security. • Coordinate site testing and inspection efforts. • Field layout/survey. • Manage field costs, including labor and material. • Participate in weekly job meetings. • Manage close-out process and warranty responses with Project Manager. • Travel: while the majority of projects will be in the state of PA, some projects will be in neighboring states. On occasion must be willing to travel out of state and work Monday – Thursday with Friday/Saturday/Sunday as off days.
REQUIREMENTS • 5 or more years’ experience in commercial construction (background in commercial, healthcare, and mission critical facilities is ideal). • Present a credible, confident, positive image of oneself and the company during oral presentations to clients, designers and others. • Capable of addressing difficult issues with problem-solving techniques and solutions. • Effectively use various computer programs, including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project. • Demonstrate strong leadership, organization and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and client service skills. • Must have a basic understanding of all of the trades associated with commercial construction. • Experience in data centers and high reliability facilities, with an understanding of their specialized MEP system is a plus. • Ability to directly supervise all field labor forces, including subcontractors. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment national criminal background check and drug screen.
