Assistant Aquatics/Facilities Director
Direct Report to: Facilities Director
Using excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains professional working relationships with other employees, volunteers, and all members of the general public.
Supervises lifeguards, customer service representatives, and volunteers.
Assists volunteers with their requests as needed.
Uses online job advertisement platforms, attends job fairs and uses marketing techniques to fill vacant positions.
Hire staff as needed, ensure that all application paperwork is completed.
Selects, trains, motivates and evaluates assigned staff.
Reviews progress of staff and directs changes as needed, discipline and counsel staff as necessary.
Provides training for and establishes understanding of the policies and procedures for lifeguards and customer service representatives.
Ensures emergency procedures are adhered to: Instruct staff on procedures during training, make sure staff maintains certifications, in-service attendance (including scheduling main classes and make-ups), and scan/provide emergency incident report information to Facilities Director.
Directs surveillance of the pools and the enforcement of safety rules and regulations.
Provides leadership, positive reinforcement, and constructive feedback to lifeguards and customer service representatives.
Provides lifeguard and customer service evaluations in conjunction with head lifeguard and other facility staff.
Schedules lifeguards and customer service representatives and is the main contact for any shifts that are unable to be covered. Responsible for covering any missed or dropped shifts.
Uses HR resources on all occasions to fill shifts that require a lifeguard/CSR.
Supports other hiring managers and employees of management when shift vacancies arise to best of ability and resources, including ongoing, positive communication.
Maintains janitorial and pool-related supplies, is observant when supplies are required to be ordered for the success of business operation. Independently orders products.
Responsible for swimming pool operation which includes chemical adjustments and balances, backwashing, and basic troubleshooting of motors and heaters.
Maintains first aid supplies, is observant when supplies are required to be ordered for the success of business operation. Independently orders products.
Promotes interest and provides information regarding aquatic programs to school officials, other recreational officials, community service groups, other departments, and the general public.
Responds to public inquiries about aquatic programs made by telephone, e-mail or in-person.
Maintains schedules, including upcoming facility closings, at each location.
Maintains front desk documents and flyers.
Updates lifeguard and customer service contact list information.
Updates Operations Manual and other documents upon request of executive management.
Operates a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the business of the organization.
Makes weekly site visits to multiple facilities to assure staff are performing to standards and that the facilities are being maintained.
Manages pre-determined swim meet sessions for each Dynamo-hosted swim meet.
Teaches a minimum of 4 lifeguard training classes per calendar year.
Holds LGT and LGI certification or obtains LGT certification within 30 days of employment and LGI within 60 days of employment. Obtains CPO within 60 days of employment.

Expected Work Schedule:
Average work week should be 40 hours. There certainly may be some weeks when the work hours may be greater. To be successful in this position, flexibility will be the key. There will be times when you may wear many hats.
$45,000 annually, pay checks will be distributed on the 15th of each month and on the last day of the month.
You will be offered medical, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits at a cost per month which will be deducted from your pay check. A 401k plan is available after 12 months of employment.
