This 12-month, full-time position provides an Assistant Athletic Director, Facilities and Events for the Department of Athletics. This position will oversee and support all aspects of management of athletics facilities and events while supporting game-day operations for home sporting events, as well as scheduling athletic facilities; building and overseeing an event management team of students, work study and interns; maintaining facilities and grounds in coordination with University Facilities Management by submitting work orders, monitoring progress on repairs and new construction and acting as a liaison between facilities and coaches and staff. This individual will develop short and long-term maintenance plans and sustain an up-to-date facility master plan. The person will also submit bids for NCAA championships and other external entities. The facility and event manager will be responsible for soliciting and facilitating requests from outside entities for use of athletic facilities. This individual will also assist in the management of summer camps and clinics planning and scheduling while reporting to the Senior Associate Athletic Director, External Relations and Director of Athletics.
Event operations for varsity sports at various home athletics and community facilities
Facility manager of all athletics facilities; generating work orders, managing Musco Lighting System; create facility rental agreements; submitting deposits for facility rentals; scheduling practices and games; creating and distribute internal/external events calendar; monitoring EMS system; scheduling all Recreation events at athletic facilities; and serving as point of contact for all facilities in use
Hire and oversee event management team of students, work study and interns
Outside events solicitation and serve as point of contact for all outside groups
Coordinate camps and clinics

Bachelor's degree from a 4-year accredited institution
Experience in the area of facility and event management
Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development to ensure that skill and techniques are consistent with the most current methodologies
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with students, coaches, administrators, and staff
Experience with and commitment to working with diverse student populations
Demonstrated commitment to abide by all University, conference, NCAA, and athletic training regulations
Previous experience in higher education in the area of facility and/or event management
