The Sports Information Director for the Bradford Campus is responsible for all sports information and promotion of the university's NCAA Division III sports, including the entirety of electronic media and all other sports-related publications. In addition, all obligations to the AMCC and NCAA must be fulfilled.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, live streaming games and writing press releases after the games, developing web media guides, and publicizing all aspects of the Athletic Department by writing feature stories and updating the university's athletic website and social media channels. The SID also will supervise events so they comply with AMCC and NCAA rules, assist coaches in gathering current statistical and records files, maintain up-to-date statistical data in athletic archives, and manage all aspects of the Game Day student workers.
Candidates must include writing samples - at least one game-day release and one feature story. Also include a separate statement describing a history of working with or demonstrating a commitment to addressing issues of race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, and/or other issues of underrepresented populations.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, English, or other relevant field required, Master's preferred. Must be knowledgeable in StatCrew, Presto, InDesign, and web and video-editing software, Web page construction. Strong writing skills a must. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. Two years of increasingly responsible experience in sports information or sports journalism, including some experience in computer website maintenance.
