The Housekeeping Manager 2 (HKM2) provides leadership and direction for housekeeping services to assigned buildings or areas; as workload requirements vary, such as summer quarter and quarter break periods, may be assigned to different work areas; leads and coaches work team; assists with training and development of custodial staff; assists with the training and development of custodial staff; carries out projects including furniture inventory, storage rooms, carpet care program, and wall washing; maintains timekeeping records of hours worked, overtime, vacation and sick leave; prepares inventory; requisitions supplies and equipment; solves problems; responsible for overall performance management of staff; makes hiring and corrective action decisions in coordination with supervisor; participates on management team and develops relationships with colleagues; manages and shares resources; solves problems; communicates constructively with all contacts; promotes safety and security principles; generally works 9pm to 5:30am pm but may be asked to work varied shifts; weekend and holiday work is required; This operation functions 7 days a week; This position is required to travel between multiple facilities basis on business needs; The Housekeeping Manager 2 must successfully complete and pass the CMI Basic Module training and exam during their probationary period-failure to do so may result in probationary removal.
Please note: The posted pay rate of $18.00 per hour reflects the established Housekeeping Manager 2 starting rate, $16.50 per hour, plus a $1.50 per hour shift differential.
7th grade education or higher; three courses in management/supervision (or three months of experience); 300 hours of training in use of cleaning equipment (or three months of experience); three courses in inventory control (or three months of experience); one course in public relations (or one month of experience) or equivalent.
Valid Driver License; High School diploma, three years of housekeeping/custodial experience in a commercial, institutional or educational environment; Cleaning Management Institute (CMI) Certification; Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); electronic timekeeping experience.
