Job Summary: Under general supervision of the Assistant Dean of Career Services, provide general career counseling to students, recent graduates, LL.M. students and alumni. Provide advice and guidance regarding the public interest and public sector job markets, including advice and guidance regarding the international job market and prospects. Assist with and manage internal career programming for the student population, including programming related to public interest and sector opportunities Develop and build on existing relationships with legal employers, particularly with the ultimate goal of identifying and creating new employment opportunities for law students and recent graduates.
Work with the Assistant Dean to increase participation in On Campus Interviewing (OCI) and outreach to employers of all types. Assist with weekly Career Services newsletter; update Career Services publications and website, and gather employment information.
Physical Demands: -Sit for long periods of time at a computer.
Work Environment: -Work occasional evenings and/or weekends, especially during the fall recruiting season.

-Significant legal practice and experience.
-Counseling and listening skills to advise current students, graduates, and potential applicants in establishing career goals and developing effective job search strategies.
-Experience dealing with concerns, stress and pressures job seekers may experience.
-Experience giving constructive feedback and instilling motivation and confidence in individuals searching for employment.
-Skills in planning and evaluation of programs and services, including but not limited to, informational presentations about career opportunities and panel discussions that are tailored for students legal employment interests.
-Public speaking and group presentation skills.
-Knowledge of the concerns and requirements of legal employers and of hiring timetables and procedures of various employers.
-Experience with marketing techniques for the promotion of law students and alumni to prospective employers.
-Skills to write clearly and concisely and to prepare professional correspondence and other written materials.
-Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain rapport with constituencies and to build constructive relationships.
-Computer skills using Windows based software, including word processing, databases, and email.
-Skills to communicate clearly, professionally, persuasively and with enthusiasm and sensitivity in person and by telephone.
-Independent decision-making skills.
-Skills to relate to students with diverse backgrounds and differing credentials and goals.
