The function of the Director, Facilities Planning, Design and Construction is to plan, program, design, and manage the construction of physical facilities as well as daily use of space. The Director of Facilities Planning Design and Construction shall oversee new construction, renovation and alteration projects. Coordinates all facets of day to day activities of vendors and professional personnel such as architects and engineers to provide necessary facilities for user groups. Responsible for managing the planning, programming, and development of capital improvement projects, monitoring construction, contract documents, closeouts, pre-bid conferences. Acts as a construction liaison and project management for minor and major construction contracts. Supervises subordinate employees.
Minimum of three years of direct experience inspecting construction projects costing more than three million dollars.
Three years of supervisory experience.
Must be available to work Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Work schedule subject to change based on the needs of the department.
Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
