Tri-County Electric Cooperative, Inc. is looking for the best candidate to fill a Distribution Engineer position. The exact position will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience as it pertains to the Distribution Engineer Description levels 1 through 4.
This position will be responsible for engineering and planning for the Tri-County distribution system.
Duties and Responsibilities
The following is a comprehensive list of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position,
Including but not limited to:
Perform distribution designs for new subdivisions
Analyze data for capital construction needs and make recommendations for solutions
Perform modeling work, including the upkeep of the distribution model
Perform coordination studies from the substation feeder level down
Assist with the development of device and equipment standards
Working knowledge of NESC and NEC standards (preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Electrical Preferred.
Valid Texas driver’s license or the ability to receive a Texas driver’s license
Professional Engineer registration in Texas desirable

leadership and mentoring skills (preferred)
Abilities and Skills
Analytical Skills – Ability to apply critical thinking to design challenges
Coordinating Skills – Ability to maintain a timely schedule between multiple assignments
Computer Skills – Strong knowledge of staking, CAD, and modeling software. Futura, MicroStation and Milsoft experience preferred.
Communication Skills – Excellent written and speaking skills
Physical demands are limited to occasional lifting, and walking on uneven ground
