The Board of Trustees of Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative is seeking qualified candidates to fill the vacancy of their General Manager. The Board has contracted with NRECA’s Executive Search to facilitate the search process.
Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative (CVEC) has 70 employees serving over 25,000 active electric meters with over 5,200 miles of overhead and underground distribution line. Annual revenue is approximately $62 million with total assets of $126 million. CVEC is a Touchstone Energy Partner and a member of Western Farmers Electric Cooperative, Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives, NRECA, CFC, Co-Bank, CRC and Federated Insurance.
CVEC seeks candidates with at least 10 years electric utility industry experience and 5 years of strong leadership experience in a management position. The successful candidate will be one of high integrity with excellent people and communication skills. A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field with a continued desire to learn is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to nurture a team environment while leading the financial, operational, engineering, and member service initiatives of an electric distribution cooperative. An emphasis will be placed on strategic planning and succession planning to prepare for the future. The ability to build positive relationships with employees, a diverse membership and community, and associated organizations is crucial.
CVEC serves approximately 3,500 square miles covering all or parts of 10 counties in central Oklahoma. Headquarters are located on Interstate 40 at its intersection with U.S. Highway 377 (State Highway 99). CVEC also has a district office located in Eufaula, Oklahoma, and an Eastern Area construction and maintenance facility located in Wetumka, Oklahoma. The major universities in the state as well as the state’s two largest cities are all within easy driving distance.
