SHUTDOWN COORDINATOR , Facilities-Campus Construction , to provide operational management--under general direction from the renovations program manager of the Committee for Renovation and Space Planning (CRSP)--for facilities projects such as construction, commissioning, and renovations. Will be responsible for managing construction projects and meeting budgets and deliverables schedules; overseeing, coordinating, and implementing the shutdown of various utilities within Facilities that are affected by the department's numerous renovation projects; and ensuring that effective communication occurs between Campus Construction project managers and Repair and Maintenance personnel with regard to ongoing project-related shutdowns. The position involves frequent contact with Campus Construction project managers and engineers to understand the scope of projects and their scheduling needs and to coordinate those needs with the needs of Repair and Maintenance. It also involves interact with hired contractors and designers, regularly attending construction meetings, and remaining responsive and supportive to building occupants and customers.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : a high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years' related experience; hands-on experience with building systems, operations, and maintenance; full knowledge and understanding of relevant Massachusetts' building codes; ability to persuade, influence, negotiate, form alliances, collaborate, delegate, listen to and accept others opinions, and resolve moderately complex issues; excellent decision making, interpersonal, customer service, and oral and written communication skills; proficiency with computers; and ability to read plans.
