The MIT Department of Facilities’ Engineering Group (FEG) seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to be responsible for maintaining familiarity with building and campus electrical and fire alarm systems, developing long-term plans and integrating that planning into the scope of major capital and smaller renovation projects, and continually moving in the direction of improving the state of campus electrical and fire alarm systems. Will participate in project team meetings and guide vendors and consultants with electrical and fire alarm system development; provide technical guidance to all groups within the Department of Facilities and the academic side of the Institute; participate in and provide electrical expertise and guidance to the MIT Lab Equipment Electrical Safety Program; and build department structure to ensure that the Institute is provided with the necessary utility support in a professional, cost effective manner and in conjunction with MIT’s sustainability goals and objectives. Will also perform electrical engineering design work on internal projects selected by the director.
