Position: Fleet Manager Location: Azle, TX FLSA Designation: Full Time – Exempt Department: Accounting (reports to Chief Financial Officer)
Maintains all cooperative vehicles and construction equipment and supervises and directs all functions of the automotive service shop Essential Job Functions Including but not limited to: • Directs the inspection of all fleet equipment to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and requirements. Prepares, records, and submits required documentation to be in compliance with such laws. • Develops and directs the development and maintaining of all fleet maintenance logs. • Develops preliminary budget and final specifications for all cooperative vehicles and attached equipment procurements utilizing internal and external resources. • Provides training for all assigned personnel and other TCEC personnel. • Schedules, checks time sheets, does performance appraisals, of all assigned personnell. • Ensures that all safety policies, rules, and procedures are carried out by all assigned personnel. • Keeps informed on new automotive and fleet equipment technology and advises Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operations Officer on the use of technology to improve effectiveness and efficiency in assigned operations. • Directs the development of vehicle and line equipment specifications. • Directs all phases of maintenance and repair of light vehicle, medium and heavy truck, aerial devices, diggers, booms, compressors, trailers, and other attached equipment. • Develops Capital and Expense budget for all Garages and Technical Services, including a vehicle plan. • Tracks all vehicle and equipment expenses and utlizes cost-benefit analysis in making recommendations to Chief Financial Officer whether to repair or replace vehicle. • Directs the operation, recordkeeping and prepares reports required for environmental issues related to PCBs, SPCC, PCS , Universal Waste Removal Program and the cooperative’s Waste Management Program. • Determines all parts, supplies and equipment needed by the department and requisitions or buys them in accordance with Cooperative policy. • Working knowledge of common fleet administration tasks such as titling, registration, asset-transfer • Oversee DOT requirements and mileage and insure compliance, record keeping and reporting according to regulatory statues are met • Obeys all safety rules.
Requirements • Bachelor's degree (preferred) plus five years of successful transport management experience • Microsoft Office Efficiency • Strong Communication and Management skills • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities • Ability to operate effectively in a team-based environment • Legally able to drive company vehicles with exemplary driving record. • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and operational level • Discipline: a proven track record as a self-starter with adherence to company policies PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: A.
