The Athletic Equipment Manager, under general direction, maintains complete oversight of athletic equipment and apparel purchases for intercollegiate sports. Oversees all phases of business contracts as they pertain to athletic equipment and apparel. Performs all duties including sizing, issuing, maintaining and performing inventory of all football equipment.
Oversees all aspects of ordering equipment and apparel as it relates to business contracts. Oversee all aspects of concept, design, approval, construction, delivery, and installation as necessary until completion.
Coordinate annual meeting and schedule order sessions between Athletic department staff, individual sport coaching staff and business representatives to formulate equipment and apparel orders for the following school year.
Serve as primary liaison between the PVAMU A&M athletic department and business contacts in relation to all aspects of design approvals, ordering, shipping and receiving of equipment, footwear, and apparel for all intercollegiate sports, as well as all divisions of athletic administrative and support.
Maintain complete oversight and summarize all orders and verify for accuracy and budget authority prior to placing orders.
Supervise and direct equipment staff in daily operations and ensuring all trainings are completed.
Train all staff, both full time and undergraduate, in areas such as purchasing, inventory control, fitting, laundry services, as well as health and safety practices.
Oversees all aspects of hiring and managing staff members.
Education and Experience:
Five years as collegiate or professional team equipment manager
