The Zone Maintenance Foreman directs andsupervises highly skilled trades personnel in the construction, repair, andalteration of within building(s) envelope and surrounding perimeter, followingrecognized procedures and techniques of the construction industry andUniversity standards. Foreman is aworking foreman and will be responsible for directly performing a wide range ofskilled construction tasks. Plans andschedules work for the group supervised, ensuring adequate coverage and properdistribution of work assignments. Inspects buildings within zone and completed work assignments to ensurequality expectations are met. Assists inthe establishment of preventive and preventative maintenance programs. Trains and instructs designatedpersonnel. Recommends and conductsvarious personnel actions including but not limited to: hiring, promotions,transfers, vacation schedules, performance evaluations, and disciplinaryactions. Contributes to the overallsuccess of Facilities Services by performing other essential duties (forexample: snow removal) and responsibilities as assigned. Checks both emails and work orders daily on acomputer. Employee inspects work sitesto ensure: accurate reporting regarding materials-on-hand, in addition topolicy compliance by continually monitoring work site's and maintenance shop's(within zone) clean and safe
