Description of Position
Licensed architect who in conjunction with other senior leaders, is responsible for carrying out the firm’s vision, executing long-range plans, ensuring profitability and enhancing quality. Must possess a thorough knowledge of the practice of architecture, with emphasis on design, building materials, construction methods, integration of engineering disciplines and building costs/codes.
This position requires strong analytical and technical abilities and carefully thought-out results. Strong leadership and control of the work process from beginning to end is necessary. The job centers on developing new ideas, systems and technology, and also analyzing and improving old ones. A high level of expertise is expected. Focusing on accomplishing the goal and demanding the highest quality of work from co-workers and subordinates is important.
Manage all phases of projects of various scales and complexities.
Supervise small to large teams, delegate and coordinate the work, and review and approve the work of all internal and external team members.
Monitor project design development and provide design direction and support to ensure consistent and high-quality design.
Provide final review and approval of all code analysis, material selections, and specifications.
Oversee construction document development and management of BIM model.
Attend client meetings and regularly interface with clients and consultants.
Coordinate with project manager(s) on a regular basis to ensure projects are executed according to work plan. Develop work Plans and key performance initiatives in conjunction with Project Managers.
Accountable for the team’s execution of the work in the most efficient and technically feasible manner.
Advocate for design excellence and encouraging team members and consultants to keep design and problem solving as a priority.
Develop and monitor quality and production standards for projects.
Estimating fees, determining scopes of work and preparing proposals, presentations and contracts.
Bachelors and/or Master’s degree in Architecture
Licensed architect with NCARB certification
10+ years of commercial architecture practice. Healthcare experience very desirable
Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Sketch Up, and Adobe
Business development and marketing experience very desirable
