Job Description Summary: The Construction Trades Instructor will serve as the lead instructor for the Construction Trades program, providing curriculum direction, overseeing the program, including offerings at St. Joseph, MI, county high schools, as well as teaching courses at SMC's Dowagiac campus. Instructor is also responsible for providing mentoring and general advising to students within the robotics program. Essential Duties and Responsibilites:
Teach all courses in the Construction Trades curriculum,
Teach courses during the hours outlined for the course, grade homework, quizzes, tests, final exams, and student labs, document grades in Learning Management System (Moodle), and lead final outcomes assessment with Construction Trades' faculty in St. Joe County, MI.
Oversee curriculum, recommend changes, and keep content current with industry standards.
Maintain advisory board and participate in annual advisory board meetings.
Review and recommend budget and capital expenses for program to Dean.
Develop and retain relationships with area industry experts and employers.
Assist in the recruitment of students into robotics and other advanced technology curricula.
Mentor and engage students to support their learning.
Maintain applicable professional certifications and obligations.

Required Qualifications: Associates Degree in Construction Trades Michigan Residential Builders license Building experience Previous teaching experience or a combination of education and experience commensurate with the duties of this position.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree or higher Experience with curriculum design in a higher education setting Proficiency and/or certifications with applicable Department of Energy and National Association of Home Builders required software and training.
