Curtis School – Chief Strategy and Operations Officer
Reporting directly to the Head of School, the Chief Strategy and Operations Officer (CSOO) will lead long-term strategic initiatives, the management of complex projects, and serve as an indispensable partner to the members of the senior leadership team. Curtis School recently embarked on a 14-month strategic planning process, culminating in “Envision Our Future”. In spring of 2019, the Board of Trustees approved the proposed plan which sets out the school’s goals and ambitions for 2019-2024 and beyond, including the groundwork for a 25-year facilities master plan. It is in the context of this exciting point in Curtis School’s growth that the CSOO position is being created to assist in the implementation of the School’s strategic vision, ensure timely delivery of key milestones, and lead special projects and longer-term strategic initiatives.
The CSOO will be a passionate, innovative, and self-directed professional who will be a key contributor to the leadership and administration of the School. The CSOO will have the unique opportunity to bring their strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities to lead the school’s response and ongoing monitoring of the COVID-19 pandemic. The CSOO will then leverage this experience to further build out the school’s emergency preparedness and response protocols to ensure the safety and security of the Curtis community. Moreover, the CSOO will provide leadership for the master planning process and make informed, yet timely decisions regarding facilities maintenance, design, permitting, variances, and construction (including change orders) and renovation, including exploring potential solar energy production and a greenhouse/garden for educational programs.
