As the owner’s representative Project Manager, you will be responsible for setting up, administrating and providing leadership for project development and building construction processes on behalf of the owner in order to complete project according to plan, on time and within budget. During the preconstruction/design phase of the project, the Project Manager will lead and coordinate the development of contract documents meeting the owner’s goals for intent, function, form and budget. During the procurement phases of the project, the Project Manager will provide support to the owner to solicit, select and procure designers and/or contractors, including third-party contractors. During the execution phase of the project, the Project Manager will coordinate the development, implementation and administration of construction processes to ensure quality and timely delivery of the project.
BS Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Architectural Engineering or Construction Management; or ten years equivalent experience.
Minimum of 8-10 years’ strong and varied experience in commercial building construction; experience working for a commercial general contractor is preferred.
Experience in coordinating work on an occupied, functioning facility.
Past experience working on, supporting and/or managing government projects.
Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, including building end users.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
Exposure to cost estimating and interest in working with team to develop value propositions for the mutual benefit of owner and contractor.
Ability to organize the owner, architectural, contractor, designer and user teams to meet deadlines and achieve desired results.
Working knowledge of current construction market conditions, including pricing conventions and trends.
Thorough understanding of construction processes and documents, including drawings and specifications; ability to track and verify that the work is placed in accordance with the contract documents.
Consistent attention to details with the ability to identify discrepancies and diplomatically implement corrective actions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products and strong computer skills with a variety of software packages
