Under general direction, directs the operations and administration, and maintains responsibility for assigned for the Office of Campus Planning & Space Management.
Serves as the contract administrator for the outsourced facilities services contract, ensuring that all contract deliverables are met and renovation projects are fulfilled on time and within budget.
Evaluate the condition of all University buildings and facilities to ensure compliance with health, life safety, and building codes.
Develops and implements campus and utilities masterplans.
Ensure facility and space needs are being met and accurately reported. Assures compliance with regulatory inspection and reporting requirements.
Provides direct oversight of departmental deadlines, day to day operations, and departmental audits.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Ten years of progressive management experience including construction projects, custodial, grounds, maintenance, supervisory, and budgeting.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of accessibility issues and planning mechanisms specific to the American with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and Universal Design.
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work individually or as a team.
Ability to organize and make decisions.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Science or related field.
Experience with Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board space reporting.
Experience of State of Texas higher education processes related to facilities and space management.
Experience in working with outsourced facilities services contractors.
Knowledge of State of Texas procurement methods.
