Reporting to the Vice Provost for Health Sciences, the IU Bloomington RAHC Building Manager works with all IUB occupants of the Health Sciences Building, IU Health Bloomington Hospital (IUHBH) personnel, and IU Capital Planning and Facilities to ensure the safe and proper functioning of the facility and its operations. Manages communications with building occupants, coordinates classroom issues and classroom tech support, directs all operations of facilities management, and directs physical operations and maintenance of the building and associated facilities of each IUB RAHC Department/School. Responsible for coordinating regular maintenance and upkeep, safety and security measures, space planning, and inventory control. Collaborates with appropriate offices for all renovation projects. Monitors regulatory compliance and represents the building on various IU and IU Health facilities-related committees. Monitors building infrastructure to identify and address potential issues in collaboration with the Office of the Vice President for Capital Planning and Facilities (VPCPF).
Bachelor's degree and five years of professional experience.
Combinations of education and related experience may be considered.
Project management and team leadership experience. Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information. Good interpersonal skills and a customer service orientation.
Building-related management experience (engineering, construction, IT software and hardware issues). Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
Working Conditions / Demands
The primary physical requirement of the position is the ability to access all parts of IUB RAHC Education building, including equipment located on rooftops and in machine rooms. The position requires the ability to operate communications, security, and safety equipment such as telephones, electronic key cards and computers. The greatest mental requirement is the ability to focus on a wide variety of tasks each day and to manage relationships with the IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
