The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Senior Assistant Superintendent in all aspects of Golf Course and Property Management. The candidate will be expected to learn then innovate on all processes involved with maintaining an elite quality golf course. They will also be expected to oversee a staff of up to 30 employees, oversee construction on and off the Golf Course. In the next week we will begin an 8 Million Dollar Clubhouse expansion and renovation. Beyond typical golf course renovations such as rebuilding greens, tees and bunkers we are also slated to reconstruct our Turf Care Maintenance Facility in the immediacy. We also are beginning to lay out plans for installing a new state of the art irrigation system.
The Assistant Superintendent will play and integral part in the overall operation. Job duties will vary from Chemical Applications, irrigation installations and maintenance, as well as small project and entire crew management. This candidate should see this position as a building block to eventually become a Golf Course Superintendent of their own one day.
• Completed a 4 year or equivalent certificate Turf Grass Program • Golf Course Maintenance Experience(recent graduates with strong internships and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply) • Willingness to learn and adapt our methods of Turf Maintenance, meanwhile providing ideas for improvement and solutions to situations which may arise. • The desire to help our team consistently meet and exceed our membership’s expectations

Spring Lake Golf Club, founded in 1898, is a premier Private Golf Club located on the Jersey Shore. Many of the finest beaches and shore attractions in New Jersey are just a stone’s throw away from the club. New York City, Philadelphia, and Atlantic City, are all only about an hour’s drive as well.
