Fire Protection Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems
Title: Fire Sprinkler Inspector
Reports to: Inspections Manager
Location: Aurora, IL
As a Sprinkler Inspector for Alarm Detection Systems, the individual will test and inspect existing fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA 72. The employee must also possess the skills, knowledge and demeanor to provide ADS customers with the professional service that they expect from the company.

*Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Must be able to Install, modify, alter fire sprinkler systems, and relocate and/or add fire sprinkler lines/heads as requested
Effectively interpret construction documents and drawings, furnishing, installing, relocating, and testing fire sprinkler systems in accordance with best practices and industry standards
Test and inspect fire alarm control panels, transmitters, and devices at customer locations according to applicable NFPA Standards and company policy
Perform tests and inspections in an efficient manner, including one person and multi-person tests.
Must be punctual; arrive on time to first job of the day, allowing for traffic, weather, and distance.
Must maintain the company vehicle, inventory, cell phone, and required testing tool
Clearly document all test results on paper and within the ADS ticket app in accordance with NFPA Standards and ADS Company policy
Communicate necessary information with the department manager, co-workers, and schedulers.
Conduct inspections and acceptance testing of newly installed fire protection systems
Inspect buildings to locate hazardous conditions and fire code violations, such as accumulations of combustible material, electrical wiring problems, and inadequate or non-functional fire exits.
Conduct fire code compliance follow-ups to ensure that corrective actions have been taken in cases where violations were found
Inspect properties that store, handle, and use hazardous materials to ensure compliance with laws, codes, and regulations, and issue hazardous materials permits to facilities found in compliance
Write detailed reports of fire inspections performed, fire code violations observed, and corrective recommendations offered
Identify corrective actions necessary to bring properties into compliance with applicable fire codes, laws, regulations, and standards, and explain these measures to property owners or their representatives
Achieve and maintain NICET II in Fire Alarm Testing and/or Water Based Sprinkler Inspections.
Follow safe work practices to ensure a safe work environment for themselves, co-workers and customers.
Be prepared to work in all types of weather conditions.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associates degree in Applied Science preferred.

Nicet II certification in Fire Alarm Systems is mandatory for this position.
The successful candidate must have a clear and valid driver’s license.
Must be able to obtain a Permanent Employee Registration Card from the State of Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
