FACILITIES MANAGER to manage daily operations at our facility. Essential responsibilities include the following:
Managing daily operations of the facility, to include enforcement of SOPs, IACUC standards, and USDA and AAALAC directives.
Developing and maintaining a training program for all personnel for animal care, technical procedures, proper use of tools and equipment,
Managing animal care activities, to include environmental enrichment programs,
Perform all purchasing of consumables, technical equipment, lab supplies, maintenance supplies
Maintain meticulous record keeping, and handle all regulatory reports and licensing
Develop collection protocols for clients and seek IACUC approval to be in compliance with USDA regulations
Develop plans for adverse conditions, to include weather (e.g., extreme heat, extreme cold, hurricanes, etc,) and security, that will prevent standard animal care from taking place
Oversee all maintenance, construction, and repair activities
Develop weekly agendas and oversee weekly staff meetings
Work with Chief of Operations to develop strategies for long-term growth and success
Educational/experience: Associates Degree minimum, and an animal science-based Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Upon testing, must possess a negative pre-employment PPD (tuberculosis) result. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen test. Must pass E-Verify.
Knowledge: Methods, materials and equipment used in animal husbandry, facility and landscape maintenance, and safe work practices. Managerial skills appropriate for a small business of 10 employees
Skill: Must possess superb communication, organizational, and managerial skills. Must be adaptable and able to multi-task. Performing physical labor in indoor and outdoor environments, performing skilled and semi-skilled tasks in a variety of animal husbandry and facility maintenance tasks. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. Must be able to establish and maintain cooperative relationships in the course of work.
Educational/experience: Associates Degree minimum, and an animal science-based Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Lab animal and Veterinary technical skills
Upon testing, must possess a negative pre-employment PPD (tuberculosis) result. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen test and health screen exam. Must pass E-Verify.
