The position of Director of Maintenance is responsible for the successful operation of the Maintenance and Park Service departments, engaged in preventative and routine maintenance and repairs of the park’s facilities, structures and buildings, maintaining a high level of cleanliness, and engage, as needed in capital projects.

Supervise and manage daily operations of the Maintenance and Park Services crew members.
Hires, trains, develops and appraises staff effectively. Take corrective action, as necessary, on a timely basis in accordance with company policy. Consults with reporting leader or Human Resources, as appropriate.
Labor forecast, schedule and process time off requests, as needed, for 40+ employees. Approve employee timecards for payroll, if necessary.
Willing to be hands-on from start-to-finish with any and all repairs and projects.
Self-motivated to identify the source of problems and work to repair the issues without the use of external sources.
Manages departmental budget and controls expenses effectively.
Partner with the Operations Managers to monitor and address daily staffing levels in accordance with budget and attendance projections.
Assure all areas are operating in accordance with government safety standards and company rules and regulations.
Confirms all direct reports are successful in maintaining rides and facilities, ensuring water quality, maintaining park housekeeping and landscaping.
Ensures a clean and organized environment in maintenance shop, mechanical spaces and off-stage areas of the park.
Performs regular (daily/weekly/monthly) safety inspections of park facilities, slides and attractions to reduce hazards and provide maximum safety for the guests and employees. Complete required paperwork and checklists.
Communicates effectively with General Manager and other appropriate staff regarding safety, cleanliness, pool chemical, staffing and customer concerns.
Assist in all park operations, as needed, as a Manager on Duty. Respond to all guest situations.
Oversee inventories and ensure proper stock levels are maintained.
Improve efficiencies in services and operations. Maintain cleanliness in all areas.
Manage third-party relations. Work closely with slide manufacturer, local health department and other affiliates.
Create and implement ongoing training programs for Maintenance and Park Services crew members.
Maintain high level of confidentiality
Ensure employees follow established guidelines for grooming, wardrobe, operations and policies and procedures.
Greets Guests, visitors and employees in a friendly and courteous manner.
Provide excellent Guest Service.
Verify safety standards are being followed at all times, in all locations.
Any other duties, as directed by General Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.

REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND SKILLS:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years’ Water Park Maintenance/Construction Operations or work-related field.
Certification/Licensure: Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must possess a CPO certification or the willingness to achieve certification prior to the 2021 park opening.
Must be well organized and flexible to meet time, priority and workload demands
Ability to troubleshoot situations without delay and act accordingly
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Must be able to work varied shifts, including evenings, holidays, and weekends
Moderate amount of travel may be required; reliable transportation is required
Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Positive and effective customer service skills
Proficient in safe operation and knowledgeable of power tools
Proficient in carpentry
Work well with people, including children and adults
Accuracy, thoroughness, and self-monitoring to ensure quality work
Must be a minimum of 18 years old
