The Club at Holliday Farms is a brand new Golf Club that sits on the Northeast side of Indianapolis in the small town of Zionsville. We are a Pete Dye designed 18 hole championship course and 9 hole Par 3 course with a complete practice area. Our grand opening of the golf course will be sometime in June of 2021.
Holliday Farms is seeking a talented, career minded Equipment Manager for our Championship level operation. We will be fortunate to work out of a brand new facility that will be built this winter/spring. We are fortunate that the ownership has invested in a brand new equipment fleet. We continue to invest in our operation to help supply all team members with the necessary tools/items to meet or exceed our championship standards on a daily basis.
The equipment manager reports to the golf course superintendent and coordinates with the assistant golf course superintendent(s) and oversees a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for the golf course assets. The equipment manager works to effectively communicate all needs/problems relating to repair of equipment to the superintendent and/or the assistant superintendent(s). The equipment manager places safety as a top priority and is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe service area and maintenance building.
Inspects, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various golf course maintenance equipment, including, diesel-, electric- and gasoline-powered , mowers, and other mechanical equipment used in golf course maintenance work.
Instructs and/or trains golf course maintenance workers regarding preventive maintenance, and the proper cleaning of and safe operation of equipment.
Prioritizes equipment repair and maintenance work.
Maintains a preventive maintenance program within budget on all equipment, and purchases repair parts and replacement supplies.
Keeps a complete set of records for equipment and parts inventory purchases, equipment conditions, costs of repairs and preventive maintenance for all equipment.
Spot checks equipment for performance on the course, makes emergency repairs to equipment on the course, and services or supervises servicing of equipment prior to use.
Oversees the shop area maintenance.
Regulates employees' use of equipment in absence of superintendent and assistant superintendent(s), if needed, and performs other duties as directed by the superintendent.
Collaborative part of equipment purchasing/leasing program.
Working knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment - specifically all golf course/light construction equipment.
Skill in the use of a variety of equipment repair tools, and the making of various types of mechanical repair.
Working knowledge of care/maintenance of all gasoline/diesel engines.
Ability to read blueprints/diagnose issues/effectively repair electrical & hydraulic systems.
Ability to move heavy objects - must be able to lift 50+ pounds.
Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions while repairing equipment.
Ability to fabricate necessary items (tools, parts, etc.) for equipment and equipment maneuverability.
Ability to diagnose mechanical troubles and schedule prioritization accordingly.
Ability to communicate effectively and keep business records.
Working knowledge of golf course equipment/light construction equipment
Ability to move heavy objects, must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
Working knowledge of safety hazards of all equipment, and the inherent safety issues that there can be on working on them
Working knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines in operation of area
Strong communication skills, and exceptional record keeping ability
Work thru inclement weather as needed
Ability to communicate effectively with Superintendent/Assistant Superintendents
Ability to grind reel mowers, and effectively setup mowing equipment to the highest standard
Ability to develop/implement Standard Operating Procedures for shop operation, as well as with training for equipment in conjunction with Assistant Superintendents
Timeliness in attendance on a daily basis
Possession on a valid Indiana Drivers License
Willing to work together with others toward our common goal - meeting or exceeding membership expectations on a daily basis
