Required Education and Experience: - Bachelor’s Degree in Turf Grass Management, Agronomy, or related field of golf course maintenance.2. Eight years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications: - High degree of administrative and executive ability, especially in terms of problem-solving and decision-making.
- Excellent supervisory and conflict management skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of golf facility construction principles, practices and methods. A thorough understanding of the rules and strategies of the game of golf. Advanced knowledge of agronomy and turf grass management practices.
- Working knowledge of current federal, state and local laws and regulations affecting the management of golf course operations.
- Working knowledge of computers and computer software including email, Microsoft Word and Excel and automated irrigation systems.
- Preferred Education and Experience: Minimum of 2 yrs as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent minimum of 3 yrs preferred. Familiarity with university and union work environments.
