Responsible for maintaining tennis courts, paddle courts, tennis bubbles, stadium and grounds, club house and all equipment as needed. Manage staff creating a cooperative team environment.
Schedules, trains, manages staff to ensure proper maintenance of club properties as established.
Oversees all planting, fertilizing and care of turf, plants, shrubs, trees and other facilities grounds.
Updates all maintenance records on all properties as assigned.
Conducts annual performance reviews with staff and maintains all appropriate documents for each Plans professional development and training activities for staff.
Contributes necessary information to assist in the the annual budget taking appropriate action to assure budget goals are
Creates and maintains drainage, irrigation and watering
Continuously monitors and maintains all courts addressing weather issues and communicating necessary changes to CEO.
Responsible for updating and implementing comprehensive safety programs for staff, members and guests in compliance with local, state and federal laws.
Meets regularly with CEO, Director of Racquet Sports and tennis professionals updating on condition of facilities, any maintenance plans and scheduled events.
Ensures all chemicals, petroleum and other controlled products are used, stored and disposed of in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. Maintaining required records. Strives to minimize the use of chemicals and petroleum products.
Attends staff and management meetings.
Creates and completes grounds manual updating as needed.
Formulate and execute approved short/long range projects for all grounds.
Communicate to members any current and/or future maintenance activities including but not limited to construction updates. Contribute to club newsletter with all grounds-keeping news adding photos when possible.
Manage and review all bids with CEO including but not limited to special projects with club house.
Assists with snow removal.
Work on issues where situations require evaluation of a variety of factors. Demonstrates good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for solution. Full knowledge of this profession and environment. May recommend changes to practices and policies that affect the member experience.
Typically manages work and goals of staff with minimal oversight. Collaboration with CEO, President, committee members, club members, and staff is imperative.
All levels of staff internally. Some interaction with members. External interaction with vendors, suppliers, contractors, etc.
EXPERIENCE, GENERAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
10+ years grounds-keeping experience.
7+ years staff/management experience.
Ability to attract, retain, motivate and develop staff.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
