The Office of Continuing Professional Education, part of NJAES-Rutgers Cooperative Extension, invites applications for instructors to teach non-credit courses of varying lengths to youth and young adult learners on topics in college and career exposure, work skills, and job training. Courses run in the virtual environment; some in-person courses across the state may launch when it becomes safe for participants and instructors to travel to the New Brunswick, Newark, and Camden areas. Instructors will design and develop course programming and programming support systems, deliver knowledge- and experience-based online educational opportunities in a specific topic area, coordinate instructional materials, assist with the coordination of classroom support persons as necessary, and complete all necessary documentation in cooperation with a Program Coordinator. Course participants include youth in the custody of the New Jersey Juvenile Justice Commission and justice-involved or otherwise disconnected youth in the communities we serve. Course topics throughout the year include but are not limited to the following: industry-recognized training programs; construction and landscaping industry trainings; music, media arts, and the entertainment industry; writing skills and creative expression; work readiness; financial literacy; and entrepreneurship.
