Professional Experience and Preparation

• California Administrative Services Credential
• Significant administrative or executive level experience that includes the supervision and administration of financial activities
• Possess, or obtain upon employment, a valid California Driver License
• Meet the physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties safely and effectively

• Candidates must be knowledgeable of the intricacies of running a small, rural public school district, be approachable and have the ability to prioritize needs while listening to and engaging others;
• Honesty, integrity, self-motivation, and a high moral character are the foundations of this position;
• Collaborative, innovative and creative leader who has the skills to navigate budget restrictions while strengthening the educational experiences of students;
• It is expected that the Superintendent will be community oriented, and will seek to understand and reflect the diversity and strengths of the community;
• Will communicate effectively with all groups in the school community and the community at large;
• Will promote positive, trusting relationships with labor associations, all staff, and community;
• Is able to communicate with the Board to help establish procedural best practices and policies that reflect needs of the District;
• Supports the Board, offering constructive criticism as needed and nourishes a productive Board/Superintendent relationship;
• Has a record of success in holding others accountable, establishing and measuring outcomes and follow-up;
• Holds high expectations for self, staff and student performance and engagement;
• Is committed to enhancing academic rigor in the District;
