We are seeking a Project Estimator who has a strong work ethic to identify and quantify cost factors and to recommend ways to make firestop installation in new construction projects and in existing buildings cost-effective. The Project Estimator will work with members of the Sales Team, clients, engineers, architects and other stakeholders in preparing cost estimates.
Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time and raw material, equipment, and labor expenses for firestop surveys, firestop installation projects and fireproofing projects
Travel to job sites to gather information on materials needed, labor requirements, and other factors
Read blueprints and technical documents to prepare estimates
Collaborate with engineers, architects, owners, and contractors on estimates
Utilize estimating software and web-based plan rooms to perform take-offs and generate quotes
Evaluate a project’s cost effectiveness or profitability
Recommend ways to make a project more cost effective or profitable
Examine project specifications to ensure all aspects of the project specifications are incorporated into the project estimate
Develop project plans for the duration of the project
Work with Regional Account Representatives, Clients, Engineers, Architects, and other stakeholders in preparation of the estimate.
Preparation of bill of materials associated with project estimates
Project Estimator will be responsible for estimating the following type of projects:
Three or more years of experience in the firestop and fireproofing quoting process.
Knowledge of International Building Code and the UL and ASTM systems for firestopping and fireproofing.
Extensive knowledge of industry practices, procedures, and market
Ability to analyze drawings and specifications and attention to detail.
Experience in on-screen take-offs.
Dedicated, well organized, able to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple
Proficient with commercial estimating software is a plus, but not required.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

Ability to interact, develop, and maintain a positive professional relationship with all levels of
Ability to travel.

Review basic software- generated estimates for completion and technical accuracy ensuring quality and
High school diploma or GED required.
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, construction management preferred, but experience may be considered in lieu of education.
3-5 years of experience in firestop and fireproofing quoting process.
