Standard Specifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Working knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in grounds construction, landscape maintenance and building maintenance and improvement.

Desirable:

1. Previous experience operating heavy machinery and golf course related equipment.
2. Previous supervisor experience.
3. Degree in golf course maintenance or related field.
4. Previous experience in commercial & residential irrigation repair & maintenance.

SKILLS:

Essential:

1. Knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in grounds construction, landscaped area maintenance work and building maintenance and improvement.
2. Ability to operate heavy equipment and light motorized equipment.
3. Ability to follow oral and written directions.
4. Ability to oversee a crew of 5 or less during a project.
5. Proven leadership capabilities.
6. Eager to learn and strives to be successful in the position.
7. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds on a regular basis.
8. Ability to work outdoors for long periods of time, sometimes in inclement weather.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Oversees the completion of work assignments by crew members and assists with field decisions regarding job procedures, work standards and machinery use.
2. Enforces safe working conditions with all job assignments and is responsible for instructing staff on proper equipment use and work methods.
3. Oversees special projects and labor crews.
4. Reports golf course conditions and all disciplinary problems to the assistant superintendent
5. Maintains crew integrity at all times.
6. Participates in daily course setup of the golf course including but not limited to cutting cups, tee service, mowing, bunkers, sod / seed projects, chemical & fertilizer application, and irrigation repair.
7. Assists the golf course maintenance crew with snow removal & cross country ski trails during the winter months including equipment operation and shoveling.
8. Assists in maintaining the landscaping on the property including the clubhouse, lodge, & Moonlight residential units.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Maintains effective communication and cooperation with all other departments.
2. Maintains positive interactions with club members and guests, providing a high level of customer service.
3. Performs any and all duties as assigned by the assistant superintendent or other members of the senior management team, as deemed appropriate.
