Supervision of civil engineers and project inspectors. Responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of structures and facilities.
Coordinating the dissemination of accurate VIPA data to the public, federal agencies, local government, and VIPA managers.
PROFICIENT IN THE FOLLOWING ENGINEERING DUTIES:
Manages capital improvement projects both federal and local.
Prepares reports, estimates, plans, and specifications for plant additions or renovations.
Inspects new construction to insure adherence to plans and specifications.
Reviews and compare final construction with plans, maps and job specifications.
Coordinates, as necessary, general work items and procedures to get the project completed.
Certifies pay requests.
Performs surveying and sundry engineering work as required by other departments.
Prepares change orders and close-out documents for all projects.
Performs other related work as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and eight years of progressively responsible experience in civil engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Building Construction Engineering.
Professional Engineers license required.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Knowledge of FAA and EDA funded construction contracts and administration.
Knowledge of the tools and equipment and their skilled use as required in the work.
Knowledge of the layout and construction functions as applied to construction work.
Knowledge of rules, safety practices and procedures applicable to the work.
Knowledge of procurement rules and regulations.
Ability to speak and write clearly and concisely. Skill in the operation of computers system.
