The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for golf course maintenance and it's related staff.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, turf grass maintenance programs, property/asset/personnel management, preparation of budgets and financial management, irrigation system maintenance, pesticide applications/related recordings and regulatory compliance.

Basic Functions

• works directly with, and reports directly to, the General Manager on all issues related to golf course maintenance
• directs and participates in the maintenance of all turf grass components of the facility
• works closely with the General Manager to operate the golf course in a fiscally responsible and professional manner
• must be able to work independently and strong problem solving skills

Primary Duties

• Oversees the care and maintenance of all turf, trees, shrubs and water features on the facility grounds

• Directs and assists the staff on completing daily tasks to set standards. Holds staff accountable and corrects where necessary

• Analyzes problem areas on a daily basis and has a communicated plan to correct areas

• Performs regular irrigation assessment of all playing surfaces to adjust and make corrections to provide a uniform and quality surface

• Communication on a daily basis to General Manager of any and all issues that may affect any of the personnel ,turf, irrigation, water, plant and landscape areas

• Manages an aggressive water usage tracking plan and irrigation systems and provides monthly reporting

• Provides technical, operational and safety training for employees to ensure that staff is working within OSHA, club safety, state and federal guidelines for safe working conditions.

• Oversees subordinates in proper and safe operation and maintenance of mechanical and power equipment.

• Supervises and participates in the application and recording of chemical applications (fertilizers and pesticides) on the facility’s grounds in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

• Maintains records and completes required reporting- mandatory daily tasks and where jobs are completed- all with specifics and accuracy
