The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for golf course maintenance and it's related staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, turf grass maintenance programs, property/asset/personnel management, preparation of budgets and financial management, irrigation system maintenance, pesticide applications/related recordings and regulatory compliance.
works directly with, and reports directly to, the General Manager on all issues related to golf course maintenance
directs and participates in the maintenance of all turf grass components of the facility
works closely with the General Manager to operate the golf course in a fiscally responsible and professional manner
must be able to work independently and strong problem solving skills
Oversees the care and maintenance of all turf, trees, shrubs and water features on the facility grounds
Directs and assists the staff on completing daily tasks to set standards. Holds staff accountable and corrects where necessary
Analyzes problem areas on a daily basis and has a communicated plan to correct areas
Performs regular irrigation assessment of all playing surfaces to adjust and make corrections to provide a uniform and quality surface
Communication on a daily basis to General Manager of any and all issues that may affect any of the personnel ,turf, irrigation, water, plant and landscape areas
Manages an aggressive water usage tracking plan and irrigation systems and provides monthly reporting
Provides technical, operational and safety training for employees to ensure that staff is working within OSHA, club safety, state and federal guidelines for safe working conditions.
Oversees subordinates in proper and safe operation and maintenance of mechanical and power equipment.
Supervises and participates in the application and recording of chemical applications (fertilizers and pesticides) on the facility’s grounds in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Maintains records and completes required reporting- mandatory daily tasks and where jobs are completed- all with specifics and accuracy
Knowledge & Skills Required
Knowledge of management and maintenance of golf course turfgrass
Knowledge of use and operating standards of equipment and tools used in golf course construction and maintenance work
Skilled in recruiting, supervising, training, monitoring, evaluating and motivating personnel
Interpersonal skill to resolve conflict and work with supervisors, officials, employees, golf course patrons and neighbors
Knowledge of safe use, mixing and application of chemicals and commercial products
Knowledge of the game of golf, golf rules and methods of play
Ability to anticipate personnel, equipment, and material requirements related to maintenance operations
At least 2 years experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or 1st Assistant
2-Year Degree or Certificate in Turf Management or related field
Computer skills, including the use of Google Docs and Microsoft Office Suite
Prefer at least 2 years experience with Toro Lynx or similar management software
Valid Driver's License
Prefer Pesticide Application License
Prefer GCSAA Certification (minimum of working towards cert)

Eagle Hills Golf Course is a public, 6500 yard 18 hole course offering mature trees, rolling fairways and challenging water features set against the backdrop of the Boise mountains. Originally constructed in 1967, this Bob Baldock design is very walkable as it meanders through the neighborhoods of Eagle. Practice facilities include a lake driving range and recently renovated putting and chipping green. The facility hosts between 35-50 golf tournaments and 15-35 weddings annually.
