MANAGER OF MIT SHOOTING CENTER/PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND WELLNESS INSTRUCTOR , Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation (DAPER) , to oversee all firearm activities for DAPER, including teaching, curriculum development, shoot center management and maintenance, and the procurement of supplies and equipment. Will be directly responsible for developing and enforcing all policies and procedures for the shooting center and coordinating and scheduling its programs (physical education and wellness firearm courses, varsity rifle team, club sport pistol, IM air pistol, alumni pistol, and MIT Police).
REQUIRED : a bachelor's degree in physical education and wellness, sports management, or related field; at least three years of teaching experience and demonstrated, in-depth knowledge of facility management of a firearm range; experience with renovation and new construction project management and with coordinating internal and external events; proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, scheduling, and course management software; team-orientation; demonstrated problem solving skills; meticulous attention to detail; and effective interpersonal and communication skills. The following certifications are required and expected to be acquired: CPR/first aid, Massachusetts Class A License to Carry Firearms, NRA Certified Firearms Instructor, and Federal Firearms License (FFL). Starting salary range: $60 - 80,000, depending upon experience
Must be able to provide occasional coverage on nights and weekends in support of the programs in the shooting center.
This is a full-time (ten-month appointment) benefits-eligible position.
