What you’ll be doing...
The Senior Construction Engineer position is responsible for planning, coordinating, driving and managing equipment engineering and construction of medium and large scale in-building network projects. These projects may include things as small as single antenna deployments in a retail store to a large neutral host DAS solution in a venue.
Serving as equipment engineer and construction engineer for alarge-scale engineering projects using Project Management tools (e.g., Fuze SPM, Tableau) to ensure objectives are met in a timely manner, within overall budget.
Working closely with a variety of groups both within and outside the Network Teams (including RF Design, Cell, Switch & Data Engineering, Transport, Real Estate, Operations, System Performance, Inventory, Translations, Technical Support, Headquarters and Area Planning).
Managing internal and external vendors to meet targeted network milestones and integration dates.
Supporting corporate initiatives for engineering and ensure adherence to network engineering standards.
Maintaining high performance level under varying degrees of pressure and uncertainty.
Coordinating and lead regular project meetings to keep the team abreast of (as well as track) overall status, changes, risks and major milestones.
Escalating issues and crash project plans when necessary to keep schedules on-track.
Establishing contingency plans as needed throughout the duration of all projects.
Providing regular status reports for all managed projects.
Coordinating Lessons Learned post-mortem discussions to document and improve efficiencies of similar projects going forward.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
A Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience in wireless telecommunications construction.
Technical experience in the cellular or telecommunications industry.
A valid Driver’s license.
Willingness to travel.
Even better if you have:
Construction management background.
Understanding of telecommunications industry standards, functions and platforms such as: Ethernet backhaul, Microwave, Transport equipment, Industry Regulatory requirements, Real Estate processes, cellular hardware and connectivity.
Excellent Project Management skills.
Working knowledge and experience of project management concepts.
PC and desktop applications competency (especially Microsoft Project & Microsoft Office).
Anticipates future workload and prepares accordingly. Recognizes impact of decisions upon the rest of the organization, receives broad guidance and is accountable for project results.
Able to work flexible hours and support night or weekend work as needed.
