Pine Technical and Community College is seeking to fill a temporary, part-time faculty position in the construction trades industry. As a subject matter expert in carpentry, plumbing, electrical or heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, the selected individual will assist the college in launching our new Construction Technology associate degree by developing curriculum, creating learning activities, fostering industry relationships, recruiting students, and setting up our new lab space. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for education, a desire to expand a skilled labor force in the construction trades, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Minimum qualifications for this position include: – Diploma or completed apprenticeship in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or heating, ventilation, or air conditioning. - Minimum of four years of paid work experience in one of the trades listed above.
- Teaching experience at the postsecondary level, preferably at a two-year college – Prior on-line experience using D2L Brightspace platform or equivalent information management system – Demonstrated commitment to quality instruction and continuous improvement – Ability to work with a diverse student body with a broad range of interests and abilities – Ability to communicate effectively with students and peers – Experience in curriculum development – Effective planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills
