The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Aviation Administration (MDOT MAA) is currently accepting applications for Assistant Chief of Maintenance (Chief Facility Maintenance Officer) within the Division of MTN Operations and Maintenance at Martin State Airport. The Assistant Chief of Maintenance directs the daily maintenance activities of a 775 Acre general aviation airport, including building maintenance and maintenance, airfield pavement maintenance, snow and ice control, and vehicle maintenance. Employees in this position are designated “Emergency Essential” in the event of airport emergencies, weather emergencies, or irregularities and are subject to extended shifts and being on-call during scheduled off-hours, holidays, and weekends.

Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS: 1. Employees in this class are assigned duties which require the operation of motor vehicles. Employees must possess and maintain a Class C motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland. During the probationary period, the employee may be required to obtain and maintain a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), valid in the State of Maryland depending on the type of equipment operated. 3. Maryland Aviation Administration employees assigned to the BWI Airport must obtain an MAA Airfield Operators Permit in accordance with the Code of Maryland Regulations 11.03.01.04, Control of Vehicular Traffic on the Air Operations Area, prior to permanent appointment |
