Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Eight years of experience in construction, facilities maintenance, or skilled trade work. *This experience must include directing a maintenance program, responding to various types of emergencies, and direct responsibility for maintenance of buildings, roadways, ramps and taxiways, automotive repair, specialized firefighting systems, and/ or high-voltage systems for an airport or major facility. Four years of the required experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.

Selective Qualifications are utilized when the position requires specific or additional bona fide occupational qualifications (i.e., knowledge, skills, or abilities). LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS: 1. Employees in this class are assigned duties which require the operation of motor vehicles. Employees must possess and maintain a Class C motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland. During the probationary period, the employee may be required to obtain and maintain a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), valid in the State of Maryland depending on the type of equipment operated.
2. Employees in this class may be required to satisfy the employing administration’s training and certification program requirements to obtain and maintain permanent status in this classification. 3. Maryland Aviation Administration employees assigned to the BWI Airport must obtain an MAA Airfield Operators Permit in accordance with the Code of Maryland Regulations 11.03.01.04, Control of Vehicular Traffic on the Air Operations Area, prior to permanent appointment |
