Job Description:

The Facilities Planning and Management department at Iowa State University is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Construction Manager II position. This position will act as the project leader during all phases of assigned construction projects and will be responsible for budget management, design coordination, and project/construction administration services from concept to closeout for multiple, small to moderate-sized projects with construction budgets typically under $100,000. Projects with aggregate total project budget of up to $250,000 will occur which include equipment and design costs. Project assignments typically include 30 to 40 projects at any given time with minimal supervision and substantial ingenuity.

The successful candidate must possess good communication skills; the ability to work with project participants in a team environment; and organize and coordinate work within projects. This position requires the ability to read, understand and interpret construction contract documents. It is important that the candidate have strong organizational skills along with an ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Further, the candidate will be detail oriented and be capable of following through on project issues from start to finish to ensure project completion.
